Pinal Ranch
Pinal Ranch is a former settlement or camp in Pinal County, Arizona, recorded by the USGS Geographic Names Information System.
What awaits
Infantry Camp was established here in 1870 under General George Stoneman, but the name was changed to Camp Pinal (Pinal Camp) in 1871. It was called ‘Picket Post’ because the soldiers were set on ‘picket’ duty watching against Indians. The camp, abandoned in 1871, became the site for Pinal Ranch, settled in 1877 by Robert A. Irion (AZ-T101).
